چکیده

This paper presents and experimentally implements three different adaptive robust controllers as the first steps toward using model-based for transfemoral prostheses. The goal of this is to translate these control methods robotic domain, from bipedal walking prosthesis walking, including a rigorous stability analysis. human/prosthesis system modeled two-domain hybrid asymmetric system. An optimization problem formulated obtain stable human-like gait. proposed are then developed combined model optimized reference all proven Lyapunov theorem, ensuring convergence desired verified on robot in simulation. They tested treadmill with an able-bodied subject third iteration AMBER Prosthetic (AMPRO3), custom self-contained powered prosthesis. Finally, outdoor tests carried out AMPRO3 test subjects level ground, uphill slopes, downhill slopes at slope angles 3° 8°, demonstrate real-world environments.

Experiments in Adaptive Model-Based Force Control

This paper reports preliminary experiments with a provably correct model-based adaptive robot control algorithm for simultaneous position and force trajectory tracking of a robot arm whose gripper is in point contact with a smooth surface. The comparative experiments show the new adaptive model-based controller offers performance superior to that of its non-model-based counterpart over a wide v...

The Feasability of Reflexive Control in Transfemoral Prostheses

In daily life of a transfemoral amputee (TFA) a stumble or a fall is not uncommon, mainly due to the lack of feedback and control of their prosthesis. Although intelligent knees are now available, proprioceptive feedback and control over the lower leg is needed. Using muscle activity (EMG) as control input and providing artificial feedback is a concept already seen for upper extremity prosthesi...

Optimal and adaptive control of chaotic convection — Theory and experiments

In theory and experiments, optimal and adaptive control strategies are employed to suppress chaotic convection in a thermal convection loop. The thermal convection loop is a relatively simple experimental paradigm that exhibits complex dynamic behavior and provides a convenient platform for evaluating and comparing various control strategies. The objective of this study is to evaluate the feasi...

Analysis of Speed Control in DC Motor Drive Based on Model Reference Adaptive Control

This paper presents fuzzy and conventional performance of model reference adaptive control(MRAC) to control a DC drive. The aims of this work are achieving better match of motor speed with reference speed, decrease of noises under load changes and disturbances, and increase of system stability. The operation of nonadaptive control and the model reference of fuzzy and conventional adaptive contr...
